On September 27th, Che Figata’s Table Italiano takes you to Umbria, known in Italy as the nation’s “cuore verde” – its “green heart” – where the just-over-3,000 square-mile landscape (about half the size of Illinois) maintains and reflects ancient agricultural and artistic traditions.
Our Chef will guide you on a culinary tour of an area considered one of Italy’s best-kept culinary secrets; Umbria’s gold-green olive oil, rich red wines, diverse grains and flavorful salamis are just beginning to be recognized globally. The region also produces spectacular aged prosciutto, richly flavored sheep’s milk cheeses, and is Italy’s largest producer of black truffles.
